We look forward to the 10th annual Patriot Day Luncheon featuring Prudence Hostetter.

Prudence Hostetter

Prudence Hostetter is a native of New Jersey who earned her associate’s degree from Colby Junior College and a Bachelor of Arts from Boston University. She was also awarded a Diplome Sorbonne after a 15-month stay in France to study 17th and 18th century literature. She learned to fly at Somerset Airport in Pluckemin, New Jersey, at a mom-and-pop operation that is still operating today. She landed her first flying job at American Airlines in 1985 as a flight engineer on a Boeing 727. She worked her way up the ladder to first officer on the 727, and then on a DC-10. She was a captain flying DC-9s and then a captain on the Boeing 757/767, which she was flying on 9/11. She retired from American Airlines in 2007. Prudence returned to her horse farm in Palm Beach County after 22 years in the cockpit, and then moved again in 2015 to join us in Fernandina Beach. She will share her life adventures, especially those on September 11, 2001, at the Navy SEAL Foundation Patriot’s Day Luncheon on September 11, 2024.
