Training Together. Building Trust.
At the heart of Building Battle Buddies is a hands-on approach to service dog training. Rather than simply providing a Veteran or First Responder with a previously trained dog, participants take an active role in training their own Battle Buddy, creating a strong foundation of trust, communication, and teamwork.
The 21-Day Journey
Through an immersive 21-day training program, Veterans and First Responders work alongside experienced trainers to develop the skills necessary to successfully work with their service dogs. Each participant learns how to communicate with, handle, and care for their Battle Buddy while the dog develops the behaviors and skills needed to become a dependable service companion.
Training together creates something that cannot simply be handed from one person to another—a relationship built through shared experience.
More Than Training
The program extends beyond commands and obedience. Working together each day helps participants and their dogs develop confidence, trust, consistency, and an understanding of one another.
The training environment also provides fellowship with other Veterans and First Responders who share similar experiences, creating camaraderie and a sense of community throughout the program.
Building a Team for Life
Graduation from the 21-day program is not the end of the journey. It represents the beginning of a lasting partnership.
Participants leave with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to continue working with their service dogs at home, strengthening the bond they developed throughout training.
They arrive as a Veteran or First Responder and a rescue dog. They leave as Battle Buddies.
